Asheville Cardiology Associates, the leader in cardiovascular care in western North Carolina, seeks a full time non-invasive cardiologist. The candidate should be skilled in Level II Echocardiography and possibly nuclear. The position has no night or weekend call requirements. Candidate must be board eligible or board certified. The cardiologist will have an outpatient practice, along with consult and inpatient services.
Murphy Medical Center serves a seven county area in western North Carolina, including northeastern Georgia and eastern Tennessee, offering both inpatient and outpatient services. The hospital employs over 700 full time and part time staff, and has a 57 bed acute care capacity, along with an attached 134 bed nursing home.
Asheville Cardiology has 25 full time cardiologists in Asheville, including three pediatric cardiologists, and eight affiliates in Hendersonville, Brevard, Sylva and Franklin. Asheville Cardiology offers exceptional salary, benefits and partnership track. This position is a collaborative effort with Mission Hospital, licensed for 730 beds on two adjoining campuses. A Level II Trauma Center, it serves as the tertiary referral center for Western North Carolina. Mission Health System also has been recognized by The Commonwealth Fund as having one of the most effective quality improvement programs in US hospitals, and Murphy Medical Center in Murphy, NC.
Western North Carolina offers numerous four season outdoor recreational amenities and natural beauty of the Appalachian Mountains and the southern tip of the Great Smokies. Cherokee County and its towns are surrounded by beautiful lakes, great fishing, golf, whitewater, hiking and many other outdoor activities. Approximately 125 miles from Atlanta and 105 miles from Asheville and Knoxville, Murphy also has its own airport. Five universities are within 30-100 miles. Additionally, the acclaimed John C. Campbell Folk School is located nearby.
