Since 1885, Mission Health has been caring for the people of western North Carolina. The same tradition of excellence continues more than a century later as we seek to provide world-class service to patients and their families when and where they need it most. To that end, during fiscal years 2012 and 2013 we have made great strides in advancing world-class care in our underserved region. In September 2012, Mission Health opened the first Mission My Care Plus in Candler.
The comprehensive care center represents our vision for the future of healthcare and reflects innovative approaches to caring for individuals and families in a patient-centered, comprehensive manner.
The second Mission My Care Plus opened in February 2013 in Leicester. In November 2012, Mission Health and Mountain Area Health Education Center (MAHEC) collaborated to hold the inaugural Western North Carolina Primary Care Summit. The first-of-its-kind forum for the region sought to share ideas for working more collaboratively to achieve our BIG(GER) Aim of improved patient outcomes, superior patient experience and lower overall healthcare costs for the region.
